People under king davy rebelled (while imu doesn't seem to agree with that king davy interpretation, he's not a super reliable source about telling the truth of history in an unbiased way), and they became the world government so the more interesting question would be "Where does joyboy and his crew come into play?" maybe imu was the dragon of the time, joyboy the luffy and davy the imu. Imu and joyboy might have allied somewhat (or have shared interest in who they were protecting), before imu "Betrayed" him to make sure he was the undisputed king of the world. Still doesn't tell us why he wanted history gone if that's how it happened, vanquishing a "Tyrant" (at least davy seems ideologically different from joyboy so he probably had a dark side even if he wasn't all bad) and killing a pirate shouldn't be a pr nightmare for the new king(s), the celestial dragons should have been heroes. Maybe joyboy became the hero of the world during that war which both threatened imu and required his existence be forgotten? It could be that the d.'s are the inhabitants of the ancient kingdom, joyboy carrying the initial because he was one before becoming a pirate. Vegapunk said there was a 'traitor' amongst the d., right? It would be fully if that turned out to be joyboy instead of blackbeard's line like we initially assumed.
