Reze

Reze also known as Lady Reze or Bomb Girl, is a Bomb Devil hybrid from the Soviet Union, who was sent to Japan with the mission of stealing the Chainsaw Man's heart. She is the primary antagonist of the titular Bomb Girl arc. Her transformation is that of an atomic bomb, mostly reminiscent of the Fat Man atomic bomb which exploded over Nagasaki in the last moments of the Second World War. Consistent with other hybrid transformations, her teeth are always visible and are notably sharp and angular. Bomb fuses cover her arms like sleeves while also making up a portion of her apron along with sticks of dynamite. Her clothes vary during her attempt to retrieve Denji. At first she still wears her normal clothes, then gets completely naked except for her dynamite apron and then she puts on panties off-screen.

Abilities

Physical Prowess

    Enhanced Strength: Despite being a young girl Reze has a great amount of physical strength; she could break an assassins arm effortlessly and choke him to death, and with a simple knife she could cut cleanly through Denji's wrist in one swing.She is also strong enough to bite Denji's tongue off and throw her own head with enough force to break a glass window.
    Enhanced Speed: Reze could cut through Denji's throat before he could react and slice straight through Denji's wrist before he could pull his chainsaw cord.

 

Hybrid Powers

    Hybrid Transformation: By pulling a pin on her neck, much like a grenade, Reze can cause herself to explode and transform into a hybrid form. She also can perform the same technique but instead of just transforming, she blows her head off and leaves the rest of her body as a decoy to distracted her opponents. This decoy can hold it's own head and throw it, the head then explodes just like a bomb and reveals a transformed Reze. The headless decoy body can be remotely controlled and act as a bomb, catching its target off-guard.

        Augmented Durability: Reze becomes drastically more durable in this form as she can withstand a full-power kick from the Violence Fiend without taking any damage. Her body can also withstand her own explosions without taking any damage and fall from the sky at immense velocity.
        Explosion Creation: After pulling the pin on her neck, Reze gains the ability to create explosions. The explosions are powerful enough to destroy vehicles, buildings and asphalt roads. Her explosions are also effective against other Devils, being capable of harming the Shark Fiend and Denji in his hybrid form. Besides that, Reze does not take any damage from her explosions, unless she desires, allowing her to use her powers without worrying about harming herself.

            Explosive Propulsion: By releasing explosions from her arms and legs, Reze can enhance her physical attacks and mobility with the explosive force from the blasts. She can also travel through the air by causing continuous and consecutive explosions, being capable of keeping up with cars.
                Augmented Strength: By infusing her attacks with explosive force, Reze's punches and kicks become more devastating. Her explosive unnamed attacks have also been shown to be powerful enough to destroy trucks and send Denji flying several feet into the air.                

Augmented Speed: Reze is able to use the explosive force created from her blasts to increase her movement speed. By releasing a massive explosion, Reze was able to send herself flying several feet into the air. She was also able to use her explosions to reach Aki's car in a short period of time.
            Explosive Spark: By flicking her hands, Reze can release a spark which explodes upon impact. This attack serves as a long range projectile and is powerful enough to kill ordinary humans.        

Self-Detonation: Besides her ability to release explosions from her body, Reze also has the power to turn parts of her body into bombs. Unlike her normal explosions, which are more instantaneous, the explosive flesh behaves more like a remote bomb. The body parts that Reze losses by using them as explosives do not appear to cause her damage, since she is able to regrow them without needing to drink blood.
            Torpedo Transformation: Reze can transform her limbs into torpedoes, which makes her punches and kicks more devastating. Reze does not appear to suffer any damage from the detonation of her torpedo-like limbs.

    Blood Consumption: As a hybrid, Reze is able to restore her health by consuming blood. After drinking blood from the Typhoon Devil she could regrow her severed leg instantly.        

Nigh-Immortality: Due to being a hybrid, Reze is immortal and nearly unkillable. She can survive being beheaded, bisected and take all kinds of injuries that would kill most devils. Even if she dies, as long as someone pulls her pin, Reze can come back to life in perfect condition.

Skillset

    Knifemanship: Reze is skilled at the use of knives. She could cut cleanly through Denji's wrist in one swing, before he could pull his chainsaw cord.
    Hand-to-Hand Combat: Reze is skilled in unarmed combat. In her normal human state she could expertly disarm and injure an assassin, outmaneuvering him completely by getting around him and putting him a stranglehold. She was also able to break Denji's neck without any effort, paralyzing him instantly.

    Bilingual: Reze has demonstrated the ability to speak both Japanese and Russian.

Weaknesses

    Water: Reze can not use her explosion powers if she is wet, since the moisture prevents her from generating the necessary spark for her explosions.

Kobeni Higashiyama

Kobeni Higashiyama is a former Public Safety Devil Hunter who started as a new recruit working under Makima's experimental squad. Kobeni later resigned from the experimental squad after the battle against the Darkness Devil in Hell. Kobeni is exceptionally cowardly with few moments of courage. Her first confrontation with the Eternity Devil lead to her being paralyzed with fright and babbling. She is shown to easily crack under pressure and breaks down in tears when the group becomes trapped in the hotel and she is confronted with the possibility of them all starving to death without any rescue. 

 

However when Kobeni gets into action she had proven to be cool-headed and efficient, ruthlessly dealing with both the Katana Man and Akane Sawatari and forcing them to retreat; only breaking down in a panic once the fighting is over. Despite being forced into a line of work that she hates by her family, Kobeni still cares about them as she sends her money to her brother to support him through college and chauffeurs her family around in her car. Kobeni is shown to be nervous when hugged repeatedly by Himeno but tolerates her antics. Kobeni is shown to enjoy alcohol, especially when it is paid for by someone else. Her hobby is to eat tasty things. She loves the flavor of ice-cream which she has only experienced three times in her life. 

 

Abilities

According to Himeno, Kobeni is talented, but she is held back by her timidness. This is later proven true when Kobeni manages to single-handedly defeat the Katana Man in his human form and forced Akane Sawatari to retreat.
Physical Prowess

    Enhanced Agility: Kobeni has an impressive level of agility, being able to dodge a tail attack from the Snake Devil before running across its body, a feat that prompted the Katana Man to call her a monkey. She also receives a perfect score when playing Dance Dance Mushroom.

Devil Contracts

    Unknown Devil Contract: Kobeni has a contract with an unnamed devil whose identity she keeps a secret.

Skillset

    Knifemanship: Kobeni uses a knife as her primary weapon of choice, managing to easily defeat Katana Man in his human form.
    Driving: Kobeni possesses a driving license and her own car, which she primarily uses to chauffeur her family around but her exact skill is unknown as the only time she has been seen in the vehicle was when Power crashed it.

Power

Power was a Blood Fiend and a Public Safety Devil Hunter who is part of Makima's special squad. She was a deuteragonist of the Public Safety Saga. Power possesses the corpse of an unknown woman or girl with long hair. Her hair color varies from blonde to pink in manga illustrations and appears strawberry blonde in the anime. As a fiend, she has red and yellow eyes that form a cross pattern, sharp teeth with defined fangs, and light red horns protruding from the top of her head. If Power accumulates too much blood, her horns become larger and more curved, and she can sprout additional pairs of horns from the sides of her head. Power usually wears the standard dress shirt, tie, and slacks required of Public Safety Demon Hunters. Normally, she wears breast pads to increase the size of her bust.

 

She almost always wears her jacket hanging halfway off her body giving her an untidy, half-dressed appearance. In her Blood Devil form, she appears as a tall humanoid with four arms and a mostly pale skinned body. Her head has a pointed appearance with a red color, sharp teeth, and two circular eyes with cross-like pupils. She also has long horns, resembling how her fiend form looked with too much blood, and longer hair in this form. Her chest has an open rib cage showing a chest cavity full of intestines up to her neck. Her arms have red coloration from hand to elbow. She has four-fingered hands and large claws. Her legs have the same red coloration from the mid-thigh down, ending in heel-like feet and she has a cat-like tail. Power is childish, greedy, and almost entirely self-motivated. She tends to fight as if she has something to gain and is certain of her victory, and has no problems with running away from a fight where she is outmatched. She feels the need to boast her superiority over her fellow Devil Hunters due to her status as a fiend. She has no loyalty to humans or devils, openly admitting that she will join whichever is the winning side. Power also enjoys the thrill of a fight and enjoys showing off her strength and proving her own superiority. When she was in front of an army of zombies she got excited and told Denji to watch carefully how she single handedly defeats all of them. She is highly egoistical and often claims she is capable of doing things she cannot actually do, only to abandon them halfway through when the situation turns sour for her. She frequently deflects the consequences of her actions to those around her. 

Abilities

In her original form as a devil, Power claimed to be greatly feared to the point where other devils would flee from her scent, though this is quite possibly just boasting. As a Devil, Power possesses all of the standard devil abilities, such the ability to make contracts with humans for a price, restoring her health by consuming blood, take over a dead human body and their consciousness, becoming a fiend, and reviving in Hell after being killed.

Right now, Power has only one contract, being with Denji. In exchange for promising to find and befriend the reincarnated Blood Devil, Power gave Denji her blood. Denji used her blood to create a blood chainsaw and disturb Makima's regeneration.
Physical Abilities

    Enhanced Speed: Power is a quick fighter, able to land an attack on Denji when she betrayed him while evading Denji's own swing. She was able to disappear from the Katana Man's sight as he gunned down the devil hunters before landing an uppercut that he couldn't block.

    Enhanced Smell: Power has a keen sense of smell, recognizing the scent of blood from a distance, while Denji was oblivious, and following it in order to track down the Sea Cucumber Devil.

Devil Powers

    Blood Manipulation: Power can freely manipulate the blood in her body to form weapons. She can also manipulate other people's blood through direct contact and is able to prevent them from bleeding out though she acknowledges that it is difficult. Power can also distort her target's regenerative abilities by mixing her own blood.
        Blood Hammer: Power can create an enormous hammer out of her own blood which she uses to crush her opponents. She can also make smaller handheld versions.
        Blood Spear: Power can create a spear out of her own blood and uses it to stab at her target. By placing her blood in bottles and hiding them in the area as traps she can make spears suddenly appear from the environment to take her opponent off-guard.
            Thousand Tera Blood Rain: In her Full Devil form, Power can generate thousands of blood swords and spears from the blood surrounding herself, levitate and throw them to her enemies. She can use this technique several times. This technique is strong enough to halt Makima for a couple of seconds.
        Blood Transfer: Through a contract, Power can transfer her blood and life energy to someone, similar to Pochita's ability to assimilate Denji's body. It was enough to completely heal the critically damaged Chainsaw Man´s body.

    Blood Empowerment: As a fiend, Power is able to restore her health by consuming blood. Also as the Blood Devil, her regenerative powers are in higher level than other devils. When Power drinks too much blood or drinks blood from stronger devil then her power drastically increases. It is shown that she sprouts additional horns from her head after drinking too much blood. In this state a single punch from Power has enough force to launch Denji into the ceiling. She can regenerate herself from small amounts of blood even after her death by consuming the blood of the stronger devil. After the defeat of the Chainsaw Man in the hands of Makima, Pochita exploited this ability by letting the blood of her inside the Denji's body to consume itself. After drinking blood of the Chainsaw Man, Power revived as a devil from a little amount of blood Denji have consumed. Her speed, strength, durability and blood manipulation abilities have been increased dramatically. After transformation, she is also able to resist Makima's domination powers.

Aki Hayakawa

Aki Hayakawa was a Public Safety Devil Hunter, working under Makima's special squad. He had contracts with the Curse Devil and Future Devil, and a former contract with the Fox Devil. He was killed and possessed by 20% of the Gun Devil, thus becoming the host of the Gun Fiend. He was a deuteragonist of the Public Safety Saga. ki generally appears to be a very stoic person. He acts mature and sometimes blunt to the point of rudeness when he is with his fellow Devil Hunters, but he is actually fairly softhearted. He has a tendency to get attached to others easily, and hates to see people get hurt, especially his close friends. Unlike many of his associates, he is described by Himeno as being a "normal person", in the sense that he still grieves for those lost and has not become jaded enough to close his feelings off. Despite this, he is very determined and his primary motivation for killing the Gun Devil is revenge for his family.

 

He is, however, entirely willing to put his own life on the line to save other people despite his own fear of death and even at risk to his ultimate goal. He doesn't like people who does not take their job as Devil Hunters seriously or fight for a superficial and material goal like money or, in Denji's case, to be able to touch some boobs, being this one the primary reason he and Denji, initially, didn't get along. Aki is also ruthless, stating that he always makes sure the devils he kills suffer in order to give them a slow and painful death. He can become intimidating with those he still doesn't trust enough, like when he threatened Denji by telling him that if he either betrays them or side with other devils, he would kill him without any hesitation. His air of cold detachment is a facade, and he has been seen to cry over the deaths of his comrades such as Himeno, and he grew to care for Denji and Power enough to try and forfeit his revenge goal in order to keep them safe. Aki also is capable of being afraid to lose those he deeply cares about. He told Kishibe that reason of why he wanted to leave the mission of killing the Gun Devil is because the future he saw with the power of the Future Devil, with Denji and Power suffering a painful and terrible death, and he was scared of that future. At first, Aki is seen to despise devils equally, not caring if they are hybrids, fiends or if they are evil by nature, to him all devils are the same. He sees them as nothing more than tools they can replace at any time. However over the course of the story Aki slowly begins to bond with some of his partners, best example (outside of Denji and Power) is his relationship with the Angel Devil.

Physical Prowess

    Enhanced Reflexes: Aki has superhuman reflexes, being able to keep up with Katana Man and Devils. After making a contract with the Future Devil, Aki's reaction time was further improved. With the help of his precognition, Aki was able to dodge Reze's explosions from up close and block Quanxi's attacks.
    Enhanced Durability: Aki is quite tough. He managed to survive getting stabbed by Kobeni, only needing Power's help to close the wound and not even having to go to the hospital afterwards. During his fight with Katana Man, Aki was kicked into a wall with enough force to crack it and was later cut in the chest. He also survived getting choked by the Ghost Devil and even being crushed by the Darkness Devil's force to the point that blood started to come off from his mouth, however he lost conscience in the process.

Devil Contracts

    Curse Devil Contract: Aki has a contract with the Curse Devil which grants him a nail-like sword. In order for the contract to work properly, Aki must point the nail anywhere on his target's body; then saying the word "fire", the hand of the curse devil will appear and flicks the back end of the nail to inflict damage. By stabbing his enemy three times with the nail, Aki can summon the Curse Devil to seize the enemy and inflict massive damage upon them, potentially killing them in the process. In order to use it, Aki's life would be significantly shortened.


    Fox Devil Contract: Aki Hayakawa had a contract with the Fox Devil. In exchange for feeding him a part of his body, Aki could enlist his power in combat. In exchange for feeding him part of his body, Aki could use his power in combat by raising a hand and saying the word "Kon" (コン?), causing the Fox Devil's head to appear to instantly bite down on the target's body, swallowing him whole or tearing him apart. Aki lost the ability to summon him after he used the Fox Devil recklessly against the Katana Man.

    Future Devil Contract: After losing favor with the Fox Devil, Aki was taken to the Future Devil which is held prisoner by Public Safety, and he managed to gain a contract to use its abilities in exchange for letting the Future Devil live inside his right eye.
        Precognition: Aki has the ability to see a few seconds into the future. He uses this to predict his opponent's oncoming attacks and plan accordingly.

        Summoning: Due to his contract, Aki can summon Future Devil by calling him. While the devil says that Aki must say "The Future Rules" to make him come, this is not an actual requirement.
    Control Devil Contract: Aki made a contract with the Control Devil, in exchange for his entire being he gained her power, however since at that point he was completely under her control he was unable to use it.

Skillset

    Swordsmanship: Aki is a proficient swordsman, wielding a sword as his primary weapon when fighting devils. By using a special sword, made by Angel, Aki can harm and kill beings that are normally intangible, such as Ghosts. He is skilled enough to defeat multiple zombies and even keep up with physically superior opponents, such as hybrids, with the help of his devil contracts.
    Hand-to-Hand Combat: As a Devil Hunter, Aki has received training in unarmed combat. He has displayed decent skills in boxing, being capable of easily defeating a boxer far more muscular then him.
    Cooking: Aki has displayed decent skills in cooking, usually being the one responsible for Denji's and Power's meals.
    Driving: Aki knows how to drive and has been seen driving vehicles, such as cars.

Other Abilities

    Strong Willpower: Unlike most Devil Hunters, Aki through most of the course of the story, never gave up on his goal of killing the Gun Devil. This obsession made him willing to pay any price to achieve his goals, be it working with devils or sacrificing most of his life span. Even after giving up his dream of killing the Gun Devil to protect his friends, he was still more than willing to make any contract to protect them. He also has great control over his emotions, being able to suppress his fear to prevent detection by the Ghost Devil, who can only see by feeling people's fear.

Postmortem Abilities
Physical Prowess

    Enhanced Durability: The gun in his forearm is surprisingly durable, being able to block multiple hits from Denji’s chainsaw with ease.
    Enhanced Speed: Aki displays insane speed, being able to travel to Power’s location and attack her after blasting Denji from the entrance of his apartment extremely quickly.

Devil Powers

    Bullet Projection: As the Gun Fiend, Aki can fire bullets from the gun in his left forearm and head with great precision and speed. He was able to break walls and Denji apart with ease as well as destroy multiple buildings at once.
    Blood Consumption: As the Gun Fiend, Aki Hayakawa's corpse is able to restore his health by consuming blood.

Makima

Makima was a high-ranking Public Safety Devil Hunter, who took Denji as her human pet. She is later revealed to be the Control Devil which embodies the fear of control or conquest. Following her death, she is reincarnated as Nayuta. She was the main antagonist of the Public Safety Saga. Makima is a beautiful woman who appears to be in her mid-twenties. Her hair colour is a light red, normally kept in a loose braid with bangs reaching just past her eyebrows and two longer side bangs that frame her face. Her eyes are yellow with multiple red rings within them. Her outfit consists of a white long sleeves white shirt, a black tie, black pants and brown shoes. Makima is an extreme fan of Chainsaw Man, the "Hero of Hell". Fascinated by its ability to wipe out the embodied concept of a devil through consuming them, her stated goal is to bring Chainsaw Man under her control in order to use its abilities to create an ideal world without fear, death, and “bad” movies. However, failure is also acceptable, as it would mean being eaten an honor according to her. Makima's true goal, however, was to be together forever with Pochita and lead a happy life with him. She always yearned for something like a family, being incapable of forming equal and meaningful relationships as the Control Devil.

 

Abilities

Makima is one of the strongest individuals in the world of Chainsaw Man thanks to her physical and supernatural abilities as a devil, along with her cunning and manipulative personality. She is feared by humans, fiends and devils all around the world, which increases her powers as a devil. According to the President of the United States, other countries besides America have already given up trying to fight her.

As a devil, Makima possesses all of the standard devil abilities. These include the ability to make contracts with humans. Thanks to her ability to control humans, she is also able to force them to make a contract with herself. Makima made a contract with the Prime Minister of Japan in return for working for the Japanese government. As a result of this contract, any fatal attacks inflicted to Makima are transferred into an appropriate illness or ailment affecting a random citizen of Japan. She was shown to have been shot in the back of the head and seemingly killed, only to stand up later with no visible wounds. She stated that she was merely grazed by the bullet, but this is unlikely given the placement of the gun when it was fired, as well as the location of the blood from the exit wound. Later, she was killed by the Gun Devil after it fired a bullet through her head, this obviously did not finish her off. It is confirmed that she had been killed twenty-six times up until the attack of the Gun Devil. Later on, she is also killed by Pochita several times during their final confrontation.

However, Denji found a way to bypass the conditions of her contract with the Prime Minister of Japan by killing her in order to end her misery, which he viewed as a form of love rather than an attack. After being eaten by him, she returned to Hell and subsequently reincarnated in China as Nayuta due to the revival ability of devils.
Physical Abilities

    Immense Strength: Makima possesses a great deal of physical strength allowing her to fight effectively in hand-to-hand combat without relying on any of her subordinates. Her strength was great enough to overwhelm Pochita and shatter his chainsaws with her strikes.

    Enhanced Smell: According to Denji, Makima primarily differentiates others through smell. In their first encounter, she was able to detect that Pochita still existed within Denji through his scent. However, she cannot differentiate between humans through sight, similar to how we cannot differentiate between dogs by their faces.

Supernatural Abilities

    Domination: As she embodies the fear of control or conquest/domination, her abilities reflects this nature. Besides her manipulative way of thinking and acting, she is able to control any being who she believes is inferior to her, even being able to force them into making contracts with her or another devil. If Makima is not fully convinced that she is superior to somebody, such as Reze, she can best them in a fight to prove their inferiority to herself. It seems as though once placed under her control, the victim subsequently loses their memory of anything that happened immediately before they were controlled and anything they did while being controlled. This ability works on humans, animals, devils, fiends and hybrids. She can channel the power of her victims by summoning them through a chain connected to her body. It has been shown that she can use the abilities of Angel Devil, Future Devil, Snake Devil, Punishment Devil, Spider Devil and Zombie Devil. Even deceased individuals can be controlled in this manner. Makima was able to form a squad of weapon hybrids, three of which (Reze, Quanxi, and Katana Man) were former enemies who now behaved affectionately towards her. This suggests Makima can control individuals outright as well as changing their personalities in subtle ways. Makima's control can be broken, as seen with Angel Devil.

        She borrows the hearing of rats, birds, and other lower life forms she controls to hear conversations remotely, seemingly anywhere on the planet and possibly extending into Hell itself. She was able to spy on Denji's and Reze's conversation and was listening in on Kishibe's conversation with Quanxi. This ability can be circumvented by communicating nonverbally such as writing on a piece of paper.
        She has been shown to control a large number of rats which allow her to travel around using them. These rats can then cluster together to form the shape of a human and thus allow for Makima to be transported to that location instantly. She has shown to transmit her voice in others by placing her hand on his or her head even if the person is dead. She uses this to command the devils that the person is currently contracted with.

    Force Manipulation: Makima has been shown to offensively manipulate an invisible force in a variety of way similar to Darkness Devil. This force can be used to damage her weak targets internally by simply staring at them. Depending on the situation, she can use this power in other various way such as;
        She has shown to cause her target to be crushed by an invisible force from over long distances. In order to use this technique, Makima appears to require a higher place such as a shrine, the name of a target and a human sacrifice. Makima forms a symbol with her hands and instructs the sacrifice whose eyes closed by a white cloth to utter the name of the target. The sacrifice then dies and target subsequently is crushed, preceded by a brief sense of "wrongness", this attack completely destroys the target's body but causes no damage to adjacent people or objects, even the target's clothes. While she is using this ability, the people around herself close their eyes with a black cloth. She used this ability once from Kyoto to kill the goons of Sawatari's gang.

        She has been shown to inflict damage by projecting an invisible force to targets she points at with her index finger which is strong enough to heavily damage Darkness Devil, who is a Primal Devil, kill Power instantly and send an empowered Chainsaw Man to outer space even though she used it repetitively against him. She usually says "Bang!" while using this ability.
        She has been shown to remove the heads of her targets in the vicinity from a short-to-mid range by using a sword; similar to her ability to crush her targets remotely, the people around her close their eyes with a black cloth.

Denji

As a young boy, he inherits his father's debts from the Yakuza. After meeting Pochita, he becomes a Devil Hunter for the Yakuza in an attempt to clear his debt. Once the Yakuza, under the control of a Devil, betrays him, he dies and Pochita becomes his heart. He now becomes the Chainsaw Man by pulling a cord on his chest. After meeting Makima, he became a Public Safety Devil Hunter. Following Makima's death by his own hands, he resigned from his position as a Devil Hunter but continues to fight as Chainsaw Man under the public eye, all the while being enrolled in Fourth East High School as a student. He is also the caretaker and adoptive brother of Makima's reincarnation, Nayuta.

After Denji forms a contract with Pochita, his heart is fused with Pochita, a chainsaw cord forms in the middle of his sternum and he regains his lost organs along with having a muscular build. He spent much of his time wearing the standard Public Safety Devil Hunter uniform, consisting of a white shirt, tie, and slacks. He wore the uniform carelessly, his shirt wrinkled and sleeves rolled up. During Operation: Super-Smart, Denji donned a pair of fake glasses. After resigning from as a Public Safety Devil Hunter, Denji now wears Fourth East High School's uniform, a black buttoned longsleeved shirt (which he mainly wears unbuttoned) and black pants. If his chainsaw cord is pulled while he has enough blood for the transformation, then his head will morph into a demonic, mechanical shape with long, jagged fangs and a chainsaw handle on the back. Large chainsaws will emerge from his forehead, arms and legs, he is able to retract and extract any of them at will. If Denji's chainsaw cord is pulled while he does not have enough blood, then a chainsaw blade will partially emerge from his face. After losing his will to live and surrendering himself to Makima, Pochita takes control over Denji's body and reveals the true Chainsaw Devil, completely losing his human consciousness and letting Pochita take over. Prior to the transformation, his intestines emerge from his stomach and wrap around his neck, resembling a scarf or a collar. Once transformed, his body is black, looking to be covered with either armored plates or scales. He gains spikes on his shoulders and the back of his head, the handle on the back of his head disappears. He becomes much larger and bulkier, towering over the average human. His arms split at the elbows, each with two forearms equipped with their own Chainsaw Blade. 

 

Abilities

Physical Prowess

    Enhanced Human Condition: While Denji usually goes into his hybrid form when fighting, he was already very strong before even fusing with the Chainsaw Devil. In his human form, Denji is durable enough to survive being hit by Power with a hammer and getting squeezed by the Bat Devil, despite both individuals possessing immense strength. He is also very strong, being capable of decapitating a fiend with just one swing from his Axe.

    Enhanced Pain Tolerance: Denji has an impressive pain tolerance. He can remain conscious, even after having multiple parts of his body cut or blown off. He also has a powerful mental fortitude, being able to fight for three days straight while constantly being injured.

Hybrid Powers

    Hybrid Transformation: By pulling on the cord emerging from his chest, Denji can transform into a bloodthirsty Chainsaw Devil. Denji needs blood in order use his abilities, so if he does not have enough he can't fully transform and will instead manifest shorter and weaker chainsaws.
        Augmented Strength: Denji has enough strength to catch a thrown car out of the air without staggering and then throw it back with an equal amount of force. He can also destroy walls and hurt devils with his unarmed attacks.

        Augmented Durability: Denji withstood a point-blank blast from the Bat Devil that destroyed the building behind him. He also has survived multiple explosions and being on fire for extended periods of time. He can fall from great attitudes and punch Devils through walls, without receiving any injuries.
        Augmented Stamina: Denji was capable of fighting the Eternity Devil for approximately three days. As long as Denji continues to drink blood to recover from his injuries, he is essentially a perpetual motion machine.

        Chainsaw Manifestation: As part of his transformation Denji grows fully-functional chainsaws from his arms, legs, and head. These chainsaws are extremely effective at cutting through devils, being able to slice straight through the Bat Devil's arm. He is able to manifest short chainsaws under his feet, which he can stick onto walls and even walk on them.
            Chainsaw Retraction: If he needs the full use of his arms and legs, Denji's chainsaws automatically retract into his body. This has not been seen in his full Devil Form yet.

            Chain Entanglement: Denji is able to disconnect his chains from his chainsaws to wrap around his opponent's body. He uses this to pull them closer to him. If Denji's arms get torn off but are still connected to his body, he can still use his chain like body tissue to wrap his enemies around.
    Devil Transformation: After surrendering his contract with Pochita, Denji transformed into a Full Devil. In this form, Pochita displays incredible speed and strength, easily defeating multiple Hybrid-Devils in a matter of seconds. Though he has been shown to have taken damage, and even been slowed by being sent to Hell and blasted into Space, these acts merely delayed him for a few minutes before he returned unscathed. His immense power is further highlighted in Hell, where it is implied he defeated every Demon residing there. Makima stated that he has killed her 26 times in this form. The form seems to lack Denji's personality and awareness, though it has been shown to retain some memories and frequently acts in accordance with them. After defeated by Makima to save Kobeni and later rescued by Power, Denji transformed back to normal and regained his consciousness.

    Blood Consumption: Denji is able to heal completely from nearly any fatal injury, and in some instances recover from death, so long as he consumes a sufficient amount of blood. After losing his arm to Bat Devil, Denji's arm re-attached itself after he received a blood transfusion. With his fight against Santa Claus, he consumed one of her doll's blood to keep fighting while still being on fire. As a full Devil, he regenerated from just his heart after Pochita threw it from space. After noticing this method to regenerate, he is able to remove Pochita from his body and regenerate it as a separate entity which allowed him to foul Makima.

        Nigh-Immortality: Due to being a hybrid, Denji is immortal and nearly unkillable. He can survive getting shot, being thrown from buildings and take all kinds of injuries that would kill most devils. Even if he dies, as long as someone pulls the cord on his chest, Denji can come back to life in perfect condition. Even after being decapitated, being cursed by the Curse Devil and having most of his body blown up, Denji still managed to come back to life with no lasting damage.

Devil Contracts

    Chainsaw Devil Contract: In exchange for living a "normal life", Pochita became Denji's heart and turned him into a hybrid. All of his hybrid abilities are originated from this contract.
    Blood Devil Contract: In exchange for finding reincarnated Blood Devil and befriending with them, Power gave all of her blood to revive Denji.

        Blood Chainsaw: Thanks to blood gained from Power, Denji is able to manifest a chainsaw from her blood. It has similar design of Power's horns. By using her blood manipulation ability, Denji is able to disturb regeneration of Makima which allowed him to defeat her.

Skillset

    Hand-to-Hand Combat: Even without his transformation, Denji is a capable unarmed and armed fighter. Against the Leech Devil- which was many times his size and weight- he was able to easily block her blows, whilst delivering punches and headbutts with enough force to damage her. His skills improved further after training with Kishibe, in which he learnt to rely more on strategy instead of blind-strength.

        Strategic Intelligence: Despite never receiving a proper education, Denji is very perceptive being able to notice his enemies weaknesses and how to exploit them. He managed to incapacitate Reze, by using her weakness against water and defeat Santa Claus by abusing her weakness towards fire and light. He also managed to defeat the Katana Man by aplicating what he learned from Kishibe and deceived him by falsely claiming that he only had left the chainsaw of his head when he also had one in his leg.

    Swimming: After meeting Reze, Denji learned how to swim. He managed to use this skill to his advantage during his fight against her.
